Abstract

Observing the current reality in fostering cooperatives, the orientation and focus of fostering cooperatives needs to be improved, so that cooperatives are truly able to apply the identity of cooperatives and general principles that apply in the economy consistently and consequently and efficiently. For this reason, it needs to be realized that the main actor in cooperative development is the cooperative movement itself, while the government functions more as a regulator and facilitator in order to encourage cooperatives to develop into healthy, strong and independent social economic institutions.
