Abstract

Rena Tuhfatul S.M.E, C1150438, The Effect of Member Participation on the Effectiveness of Working Capital Management in Koperasi Serba Usaha Mitra Jaya Mandiri in milk sales unit, under the guidance of Dr. Trida Gunadi, SE.,M.Si. Over the past few years KSU Mitra Jaya Mandiri in the milk unit saw a decline in the milk purchase table with sales, while working capital in the cooperative rises. With the decline in purchases made by cooperatives to members, the decline in the sale of cooperatives to third parties. The amount of working capital can be seen from the elements, such as: cash turnover, accounts receivable turnover, and inventory turnover which tends to fluctuate annually. With these problems, the authors conduct research with the aim to find out how far the influence of member participation on the effectiveness of working capital management. To be able to know all aspects of the problem, the research method used was the case study method, where the problem occurred in KSU Mitra Jaya Mandiri, with analysis being Simple Linear Regression. The effectiveness of working capital management in the milk sales unit at KSU Mitra Jaya Mandiri is selected from the working capital turnover in the last year including ineffective criteria. KSU Mitra Jaya Mandiri has not been able to maximize working capital to generate higher sales. The availability of working capital that is too excessive, it indicates the ineffectiveness of the management of working capital by cooperatives for the operation of its business. Decreasing the effectiveness of the use of working capital used by cooperatives to serve the needs of cooperative members, indicates that the management of cooperative businesses is not good. The participation of members in the milk sales unit at KSU Mitra Jaya Mandiri can be seen from the purchase table in the Mitra Jaya Mandiri KSU financial report which is always increasing every year, whereas in 2018 there was a drastic decline, this was because the participation of members in 2018 was not optimal. Variable Member Participation has a positive and significant influence on the Effectiveness of Working Capital. And shows that the Member Participation variable has the ability to explain its influence by 76.2% while the other 33.8% is explained by variables that were not in the study. It can be concluded that Member Participation has a positive effect on the Effectiveness of Working Capital Management with a total influence of 76.2%. This positive influence means that the higher the Member Participation the higher the Effectiveness of Capital Management Works.
