Abstract

Yudi Hermawan Rukmana, Institute Management Cooperative Indonesian, Effect of Capital Structure on Financial Performance (case study at the Multipurpose Cooperative Tandangsari Tanjungsari, Sumedang), under the guidance of Dr. Eka Setiajatnika, SE, M.Sc. Cooperatives as legal entities that participate in global competition in obtaining profits to be able to maintain and develop their business in order to provide benefits to owners of Cooperatives. One of the cooperatives that is able to survive in the current global competition is the Multipurpose Cooperative Tandangsari Tanjungsari,Sumedang which has been established since 41 years ago. The problem that is often experienced by Cooperatives is in the form of capital in the capital structure. This study aims to determine the condition of capital structure, financial performance and the influence of capital structure on financial performance carried out at the Multipurpose Cooperative Tandangsari, Sumedang period 2006-2018. This research method uses DER as a calculation of capital structure and ROE as a calculation of financial performance, data analysis techniques using product moment correlation test (r test), t test as a tool examines the presence or absence of the influence of the dependent variable on the independent variable, and how much influence given by calculating the coefficient of determination with the theory developed by Sugiyono. The results of the researchers explained that the Cooperative's capital structure is in a bad condition which is supported by debt, and the performance of returns to the owner is in poor condition. DER variable partially (r) has a relationship with ROE quite strongly, and simultaneously DER has an effect on ROE. ROE can be influenced by DER of 35.54% and the remaining 64.46% is influenced by other factors
