Abstract

The success of cooperatives is highly dependent on the total of the members and participation of its members, both as owners and as customers. The active participation will affect the size of the amount of own capital can be collected and business productivity carried out. Based on these, Yogyakarta Palace Presidential Cooperative (Koperista) in collaboration with LPPM The Indonesian Cooperative University (Ikopin University) organizes training on membership and participation of members. This training activities are intended for members and prospective members Kopersita. The purpose of this training activity is to increase the total members of Koperista while also increasing the participation of its members. The members is a determining factor in the life of Cooperative therefore it is important for members to develop and maintain unity. As owner, the members must actively participate in contributing to capital accumulation, actively participate in the Annual Member Meeting, provide constructive suggestions, and oversee the course of the Cooperative business. In addition to providing services to members, Cooperatives can also provide services to non-members, as long as it is in accordance with the nature of their business activities, with the aim of attracting non-members to become members of the Cooperative. After attending the training, the participants stated that they had received enlightenment, especially regarding the importance of member participation in cooperatives, and without member participation, cooperatives would not be able to survive.
