Abstract

Regarding investment is needed to move economy, therefore local government must try to attract investor. Local government must be able to improve attractiveness of their region to increase investment likeliness. Investor need picture in which sector they have to invest. Through superior sector investment potential study in Jambi City isexpected to give description about the superior sector which need investment. Based on calculation of Location Quetion, Shift share analysis and Glassen Typology could be concluded that trading sector is the most superior sector in Jambi City. The trading sector also give highest contribution to economy of Jambi City and attract highest work force compared to other sectors. In conclusion, it is recommended for investor to invest in Jambi City especially in trading sector. As for local goverment, making good atmosphere through good investment regulation, conducive infrastructure, and availability of accurate and effective information for investor, could increase investments probability.
